This hungry Praying Mantis is eyeing me up, but her bulging eyes will be too big for her stomach ... if she’s praying I’m her next meal! These fascinating, beneficial, voracious predators will eat any prey they can catch and hold (including their smaller mates and offspring), but, fortunately, this Big Boy is not on today’s menu! It’s lucky I came upon her on the driveway behind the Daniel Boone Homestead maintenance barn. I would have never seen her camouflaged in the roadside meadow.
